ICC announces T20 World Cup 2021 schedule

The upcoming T20 World Cup schedule in the United Arab Emirates and Oman has been released by the International Cricket Council. The competition was initially scheduled in India, but due to COVID-19 issues, it had to be rescheduled. From October 17~November 14, the event will take place.

Earlier this month, Jay Shah, the secretary of India's Board of Control for Cricket, launched the T20 World Cup in Muscat, Oman because Oman is one of the hosts, the Oman Cricket Academy was discovered to be capable of hosting six Group B matches in Round 1.

The BCCI was in charge of determining the schedule, as well as the distribution of games. According to reports, the decision to hold the matches in Oman was made during a conference in Delhi.

Sourav Ganguly, BCCI president Jay Shah, BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal, and an ICC delegation visited Oman to assess the playing conditions.

Because staging the matches just in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah was not deemed practical by the BCCI and ICC. Meanwhile, it has been suggested that the ICC may allow crowds at the mega event's venues.
