The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of the Samajwadi Party, Mulayam Singh Yadav, turned 82 on Sunday. On his birthday, PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath dialled and wished him Mulayam Singh Yadav.

To welcome him on his birthday, PM Narendra Modi spoke with Mulayam Singh Yadav, a leading Socialist leader, and said he was passionate about agriculture and rural development.

PM Modi said in a tweet, "On his birthday, he spoke to Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji and greeted him. He is one of our nation's most senior and accomplished leaders with a passion for agriculture and rural development. I hope that he will have a long and safe life."

The son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav met the former and got his blessings. Meanwhile, by organizing a blood donation camp at the party headquarters, the Samajwadi Party members celebrated Mulayam Singh Yadav's 82nd birthday.

The 82 employees of the SP Youth Brigade donated blood to the King George's Medical University donation bus. At the party bureau, fruits and sweets were also distributed.

Akhilesh Yadav called on the members of the Samajwadi Party to celebrate and make use of the day for humanitarian work.
